Logic -Super Mario World

The video starts with a classic Mario 'press start' title featuring a coin sound and then proceeds to the song. Footage from a drone looking down on Logic and his crew is also used. All 4-5 locations are etablished within the first 30 seconds. These are:

  • His Jet

  • Brooklyn Nets Basketball Court

  • A barge

  • His house

  • An abandoned Industrial sight

  • Concert Footage

Super Mario World was released in 2016 for Logics 'Bobby Tarantino' mixtape. It has a Mario esque riff throughout it hence the name is also in the hip hop/rap genre like Chance the Rapper.

As this was filmed during his tour. There was not really an out and out structure to the video. Much of it was luck and convenience while they were travelling from city to city. The use of the jet is clever as he is showing his possessions and what he has made with lyrics in the song talking about his 'millions'. All the jet shots are in day light and it has a sort of black and white feel to it.

This location is at the Brooklyn Nets Court in Brooklyn New York. Earlier on in the video Logic can be seen wearing a nets sweatshirt linking in the support. As basketball means a lot to Logic this also shows his personality. With court shots themselves, it is him, Mario and other crew members mucking about having fun.

This shot on the boat is quite successful as it features a brisk city skyline in the background. The colours are plain but create a good visual effect.

This video is successful as it can be described as 'basic' but still successful featuring mario himself as well as low budget areas like the abandoned industrial location.
