Rock

Rock music or 'Rock and Roll' is a genre that came about in the late 40's/early 50's in the United States.

It developed from African American and European American sub genres that had elements of it in the 20's at earliest. However it did not receive it's name until the 50's.

​

Classic Rock & Roll generally has one or two electric guitars a double bass, an electric string guitar and drums. This genre was more than a genre influencing culture regarding lifestyles, attitudes. It also affected the civil rights movement as both black and white communities enjoyed it.

Rock and Roll is such a huge genre many genres are products of it like the previous mentioned 'Indie' genre. Many artists have enjoyed success from it and some of the best are/were:

  • AC/DC

  • Aerosmith

  • Black Sabbath

  • Bon Jovi

  • Eric Clapton

  • Elton John

  • KISS

  • Led Zeppelin

  • Slash

Regarding my group, Rock could be a good genre for us to do, however, I feel a song that is very aggressive would not suit us as well as a slightly softer and slower one. Research will be needed but I am sure we will highly be considering a rock song for a potential video.
