Gotye and Kimbra - somebody that I used to know
The video for this song is very highly regarded and can be seen as one of the greatest videos ever. Released in 2012, its interesting storyline and great visuals, achieved a lot of success around the world.

It starts with a character who's eyes are shut, up against a painting made of various colours and shapes that are painted onto the man himself. He slowly starts to sing and 'come alive' opening his eyes. The camera is a medium distance away and shows how he is part of the painting.
The slow tempo of the song helps with the visuals of the painting. The non diegetic sound of the song and vocals continues throughout. The camera zooms out a tad to reveal a female who is stationary but then comes alive when she sings the second verse like the male character had. There is no use of effects but the way the colours fall into place creates stunning visuals.
They then both start to sing and they start to get closer to each other until contact is made. The way they do this really highlights the connection they have with each other and the song.
