Jazz

Originating in New Orleans from the African American community. Jazz is a huge genre that can almost be too hard to define. It is mainly rooted with african americans but european influences have been strong as well as others conrtibuting their own style.

New Orleans jazz began in the 1910's and everything lead on from there. With the 30's 40's and 50's all introducing even more. The 60's and 70's combined rock as well as rhythm and blues with it to create even more succesful music.

Successful Jazz artists include;

  • Louis Armstrong

  • Billie Hoiliday

  • Dizzy Gillespie

  • Frank Sinatara

For our group, Jazz would be quite hard to do in my opinion. The culture it presents and adopts is something we may not be able to find. The use of jazz also requires a lot of performing instruments that would require locations to suit the jazz feel etc. These thoughts make me feel that this will not be the best thing to do.
