During our original brainstorm, this is what we came up for our original ideas regarding editing. These transitions are what we will most likely use when switching from choruses to verses. We will aim to develop these and analyse successful ways of editing and look to implement them.
Creating Gold Objects
This is the first attempt at turning something gold. We researched a simple 2 minute YouTube video to see how the basic layers were applied in after effects. I then recorded a simple 5 second video of my hand ever so slightly moving that will eventually have a layer of gold oozing all over it.

We followed the video and were able to really gain a lot from this. We had a couple of problems regarding colour but then were able to find the right base layer and tweak it so it suits us. We then thought of various locations in London in which we could apply this. We came up with a few which is seen in other areas in planning.
Here is our plan in action. We have a shot of our actor incorporating his 'Midas touch' with the statue at embankment.

In this first frame we can see our actor clearly reaching out to the statue ready to reenact a 'Midas touch' feel.

We managed to achieve a decent start as you can see in the second frame but wanted to experiment a bit more until we found something we liked. This is still going on currently.
The use of after effects to create this simple impact has helped myself improve skills on the editing side of things. With 2 great editors as my other group members they have helped me already so early on. Even just watching them helped me gain knowledge into editing which was one of my aims for the academic year.
